Last week I was invited along to review Leina Broughton Designs at the Fashion Incubator in Sanctuary Cove. It was such a gorgeous Spring day! It was raining but still warm and that kind of weather gives me such a sense of calm and ease of sensuality! The gorgeous weather mixed with gorgeous fashion inspired me to write this quirky little poem!
SPRING ON THE GC
RAIN FALLS TO THE GROUND
YET THE HEAT IS STILL ALL AROUND
ALTHOUGH THE SUN IS BEING SHY
I KNOW SHE IS THERE IN THE SKY
SHE GIVES THE RAIN A CHANCE
TO FALL, SPARKLE AND DANCE
SO SHE CAN SHINE AGAIN TO BRING LIFE TO THE LAND
WHILE I AM BUSY TRYING ON LEINA BROUGHTONS GORGEOUS BRAND!
Needless to say I had a wonderful afternoon! I first encountered Leina's brand when Business GC and the Fashion Incubator put on an amazing ready to wear S/S 10/11 Runway Show during Sanctuary Cove's Fashion, Food and Wine Festival. Leina has worked with some of Australia's leading designers including Nicola Finetti, Tim O'Connor, Josh Goot and Lisa Ho. She was also recruited by Country Road to work on the launch of their brand TRENERY! Now Leina has taken all of this experience and thrown it into her own brand and I am certainly glad she did!
I am not usually the biggest fan of resort wear as it is usually aimed at the generations above me and there is nothing particularly fun or fitted about it. But that is certainly not the case with Leina's designs. She really knows where to nip and tuck to not only flatter a womans body but to make it fun. The fabrics are gorgeous and season appropriate and the cuts are unique and stylish!

My humble opinion...
The collection is mature, stylish and fun. Although the clothes don't look that flash on the hanger, they look great on! They fit so well, are comfortable and flattering. You can't just walk into the Fashion Incubator and look at her garments, you really must try them on to get the full appreciation of the time, effort and clever design Leina puts into her collection. Leina brings out Mini collections every two months so there is always new and fresh garments in store! I have had a sneak peek at the next mini collection coming out in November with new colours, cuts and tricks to flatter any figure, and I think it will be my favourite collection so far!
